Insurance solutions

    What is an insurance cap?

A cap is the yearly or lifetime maximum benefit that your health care plan pays. Some insurance companies have caps on certain types of charges (like physical therapy).

    What is lifetime insurance-cap tracking?

Lifetime insurance-cap tracking helps inform you of how close you are to your cap. This service can also help you find new insurance before you reach your cap.

How does lifetime insurance-cap tracking work?

Once you are a member of SevenSECURE®, we contact your insurance company to learn about your benefits. We monitor your cap and remind you of where you are tracking. If you get close to reaching your cap, we will tell you.

    Our service includes:

    • Case managers who serve as active partners
    • A yearly report of your lifetime cap
    • Updates based on cap percentages
    • Markers for certain usage levels
When these levels are reached, a process to find new coverage starts

We will send you regular updates unless there is no risk of reaching the cap right away.

    Does SevenSECURE® provide premium assistance?*

Yes. To be eligible you must:®
    • Have an active inhibitor with Bethesda units (BUs) higher than zero (can be 0.05) for Factor VII deficiency or acquired hemophilia
    • Have a permanent US address (you do not have to be a US citizen)
    • Demonstrate financial need (income less than 500% of the national poverty level)

Why is there a special program for patients with inhibitors?

Our goal is to ensure you have easy access to factor and support. The SevenSECURE® premium assistance program is meant to give inhibitor patients easier access to the support they need. We know the inhibitor community has special needs. These needs are different from those of the hemophilia community.

    Do you offer product assistance?

Novo Nordisk does offer a product assistance program. Click here to learn more

Certain medical expenses

Why does SevenSECURE® cover medical expenses beyond factor product and insurance premiums?

For those who have financial problems or a break in insurance coverage, SevenSECURE® gives small grants to help cover extra care-related costs. Contact us for more information on medical expenses or to apply for help.

What kind of educational support does SevenSECURE® offer?

With SevenSECURE®, learning can be a lifetime pursuit. There are educational grants and assistance available for people of all ages. There is also a grant for primary caregivers. SevenSECURE® offers 3 types of educational help:
Edu-Grants (tutoring grants) for children K-12
    College and vocational scholarships
    Adult education grants
*Insurance premium programs are administered by Patient Services Incorporated (PSI), a leading nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. PSI evaluates requests using a sliding scale that identifies patient need beyond the aid given by many state and federal programs. This may make help available to those who do not qualify elsewhere. SevenSECURE® supports the efforts of PSI for persons with hemophilia with inhibitors, acquired hemophilia, or FVII deficiency.

Scholarship Managers Inc (SMI), an independent third party, reviews all of the applications and essays. For scholarships of a competitive nature, SMI determines awards based on internal scoring criteria. Scholarship winners will be announced each year during the summer. Payment is made directly to the school. Primary caregivers must reside at the same address as the SevenSECURE® member.
