Past winners

Jay Luckey has been pretty busy lately. In case you have not noticed, he has been sharing his story with The Coalition. He has also earned a spot on ChangingPossibilities-US.com as the featured ambassador for teens with inhibitors. A few years ago on a field trip, he saved a friend from drowning. More recently, he has become an advocate for his local hemophilia camp, Camp Bold Eagle. There, Jay has been asked for his input at roundtable discussions and spoken about inhibitors to groups of families. He looks forward to mentoring other children, and they are lucky to have him. Jay does not let an inhibitor hold him back from achieving his goals. And for that, he is the winner of the 2009 Uninhibited Achievement Award. Congratulations, Jay!

Congratulations to Mary Jane Petruzzi, MD, the 2008 winner of the Uninhibited Achievement Award! Dr Petruzzi's "take charge" attitude and devotion to her patients did not go unnoticed. Novo Nordisk is proud to recognize her with this award.
In 2007, T. Michael McNamara was the first recipient of the Uninhibited Achievement Award. Mike learned that he had an inhibitor when he was 14 years old. He went on to get married, have 4 children, earn 2 master's degrees and a doctorate in psychology, and establish several organizations and programs for people with inhibitors. Mike received a $5000 donation to the charity of his choice and a night out on the town in Dallas, Texas. His story was published in newsletters and HemAware. He is truly inspirational.
